This is the final episode of our first Artists in Residence series from These United States. Thanks so much to the band for the awesome installments!
Straight from the road, here’s the second-to-last episode from our Artists in Residence, These United States…
Well, I can cross “see KISS” off my life list now.
Tonight I saw KISS at the Honda Center in Anaheim, and it was very entertaining. The “nosebleed” seats I chose at about $18 a pop wound up being very good, since the band and their show are so spectacular. We were almost as far from the stage as you could get, but we could still (literally) feel the heat from some of the pyrotechnics.
My first thought during the show was actually, “Aw! They’re harmless! They’re like rambunctious kittens.” And that’s about where I stayed for most of the evening. Adorable! Silly! Harmless.

These United States are launching BCTV’s new Artists in Residence series. We’ll have a new episode from their current tour up every week through November!

Carney just posted this fun video on their YouTube channel promoting their upcoming show at the El Rey in Los Angeles, but the biggest news in the clip is really that Aiden cut his hair. Here’s a re-post of my interview with them at San Diego’s Street Scene this summer so you can compare hair. (Note: Zane’s silence in the new video is due to mandatory vocal rest. He compensates with gestures and a scarf.)
